2018 "Official Selections" Announced
STFF kicks off at 6:00PM on Friday, Jan. 26th with the “flannel-casual” red carpet reception followed by a screening of THE TRAGICALLY HIP: LONG TIME RUNNING, a documentary about the 2016 tour of the legendary Kingston, Ontario rock band. The reception will include a performance by Clayton-area cover band The List, as well as hors d’Oeuvres from Johnny D’s and a cash bar by Savory Downtown. Day two opens Saturday, Jan 27th at 10AM with a special presentation of the family favorite WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY and audience Q&A with Dr. Peter Ostrum who stars as Charlie in the 1971 film based on the Roald Dahl book. Children 12 and under can attend the presentation FREE with an accompanying adult pass holder.
The weekend continues with “official selections” featuring cast, crew and locales of the North Country, as well as live panel discussions with filmmakers and seven short film blocks with 35 selected short film finalists. The short film finalists will be announced separately. The festival will conclude with an award ceremony and presentation of the Grand Prize Award.
